This lovely hotel is located across the street from the beach and is the site where we are holding day 1 of Gaia Fest (11/13). 8 Rooms blocked at $199. First come, first served. Arrangements made by participants. Tell the receptionist you’re coming for “Gaia Festival” and they will be able to give you the rate.

If you’re looking for a 3-star hotel in the Santa Barbara area, you can get good deals through Travelocity or name your price with Priceline. I’ve offered $70-$80 per night and sometimes rec’d a 4-star hotel for a 2-3 star price. Here are a few I found:

Camping

Carpinteria State Park - Set along the ocean, within walking distance of town, and voted one of the best campgrounds in the country.
El Capitan State Park – a beautiful, sprawling ocean-front park that offers swimming, hiking, biking trails, and spectacular views.
Gaviota State Park – set between ocean and mountains, this ocean-front park features a fishing pier and hot springs.
